Market Entry – Kenya
We helped an international extractive industry company to develop a market entry and engagement strategy for Kenya. The client required support to understand the complexity of the political and business environment it was entering. It was a point of concern to understand the informal dynamics governing the relationship between state institutions, political exposed individuals and peers. We delivered an analysis of political, environmental and community factors and stakeholder mapping to help the client understand who – and how best – to engage.
Our strategy helped the client expedite negotiations for market entry, establish a stable platform for growth – and operate in compliance with best international practice and highest standards of governance.
The project was successful because of the unique access we have to key players in government, industry, security, civil society and media, as well as community and traditional leaders. This network allowed us to provide concise reporting to support the client to have the confidence to make delicate decisions.
